We would like to invite poets, artists, photographers, writers and thinkers to submit a contribution for our Roots/Routes issue.

How are things rooted in ideas, landscapes, people and connections? How can we follow the lines and pathways of things to their core? What paths have things taken to get where they are and what paths are they still on?
Roots/Routes is our theme for prompt 2. With this prompt, we aim to explore the beginnings, middles and ongiongs of climate change issues. What stories they are grounded in, where they come from and where they’re going and how they’re embedded in the bigger picture. This follows on from our first prompt, surfacing, which we used to describe our emergence into the conversation and landscape. We surfaced, and now we’re digging a little deeper.
The theme is up for interpretation, and we are using it as another prompt to invite discussions around ecology and climate change, and the interconnections between the many worlds that we inhabit.
If you’d like some inspiration, have a look at our blog and the contributions from our first publication. Please write to us below if you have a piece of work that you would like to contribute, or a detailed description of your idea for a piece. Contributions of all sorts are welcome, and we’re happy to work through an idea with you if you are on the verge of something great and need an extra hand on your route getting there.
All submissions must be in before the end of October, 2025.
